API Development

Documented, versioned, high-performance APIs your web, mobile and partner systems can rely on.

Your API is the backbone of your product

Modern products are rarely a single screen. Your website, mobile app, partner portal, partners' systems and internal reporting all touch the same data. The API is the single, consistent and secure door that feeds them all. A well-designed API makes new channels cheap; a poorly designed one accumulates debt with every new requirement.

What we build

  • Product APIs: the shared backend for your web and mobile apps
  • Public and partner APIs: key and quota management for dealers, suppliers and customers
  • Integration layers: a modern, secure facade in front of legacy systems
  • Webhooks and event-driven delivery: real-time notifications with retries

Design principles

Contract first

We design the API in OpenAPI before writing code, so web, mobile and partner teams can work in parallel against the same contract.

Versioning and backward compatibility

A versioning strategy that never breaks live clients is agreed up front, and deprecations are announced in advance.

Security

OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect, scope-based authorisation, rate limiting, input validation and OWASP API Security Top 10 controls are standard. Sensitive data is masked in logs.

Performance and observability

Caching, pagination, compression and efficient queries keep latency low. Every request is traceable and error rates and latency are visible on dashboards.

Documentation

Interactive docs, sample requests and an error-code guide are part of the delivery.

Technology

We build APIs on .NET with SQL Server or other data stores as needed. When third-party systems must be bridged, our system integration practice takes over.

Our Process

  1. Use Cases

Who uses the API, for what, and under which load is defined.

  2. Contract Design

An OpenAPI contract is drafted and validated with every client team.

  3. Build & Test

Contract, integration and load tests run automatically.

  4. Launch & Monitor

Docs, key management and monitoring dashboards go live together.

Frequently Asked Questions

REST or GraphQL?

REST is our default: predictable, cache-friendly and best supported by partner tooling. We consider GraphQL or gRPC when clients have very different data needs.

Can we open our API to partners?

Yes — with key management, quotas, usage reports and developer documentation.

Do you audit existing APIs?

Yes. We audit against the OWASP API Security Top 10 and deliver a prioritised report.

How do you guarantee performance?

We set latency targets up front, prove them with load tests and monitor them in production.
